KANSO Sakalų 4 - a small, private residential project located in Žvėrynas, developed in line with the Kanso design philosophy, which promotes the principles of minimalist aesthetics. The building is designed to ensure comfortable living while blending harmoniously into its surroundings and neighborhood, incorporating sustainable and long-term technical solutions. Inspired by minimalist philosophy, the project offers the opportunity to enjoy the advantages of a small community together with well-considered technical and architectural solutions. A private, enclosed courtyard provides a sense of privacy and allows residents to experience the tranquility of Žvėrynas.
Technical solutions worth highlighting:
- Heated ramp to the underground parking area;
- 3-meter ceiling height;
- Floor-to-ceiling wooden windows – all fully operable like balcony doors, ensuring ease of cleaning, maintenance, and full functionality;
- Gated territory enclosed by a 1.8-meter fence;
- High-quality, solid apartment entrance doors with a height of 2.4 m, reflecting a commitment to quality;
- Artworks and elements of small-scale architecture in the common areas of the project;
- Shared BBQ area with a large table in the inner courtyard beneath a century-old oak tree;
- Video surveillance cameras, intercom systems, and automatic lighting in common areas;
- Rooftop solar power plant, eliminating costs for shared electricity consumption;
- Cut clinker brick façade, which at night emphasizes its intentionally imperfect texture, creating a distinctive architectural character.
Kanso (Jap. 簡素 – simplicity) is a principle of Japanese interior aesthetics meaning “less is more.” It represents simplicity, functionality, and minimalism, emphasizing clean spaces and the absence of unnecessary elements that would complicate the interior, work, or everyday life. Less chaos means more order; fewer concerns mean greater harmony; fewer possessions mean richer emotions; fewer obligations mean greater freedom.
The building has reached 100% construction completion and has been officially commissioned.
